STAT afn

Description

The STAT command provides general statistical information about file storage. The various command lines that can be specified are shown with an explanation of each form below.

STAT

If you type an empty command line, the STAT command calculates the storage remaining and prints the following message: SPACE: nnnK

STAT afn

The command line can also specify a set of files to be scanned by STAT. The files that satisfy afn are listed in alphabetical order, with storage requirements for each file under the headings:

RECS the number of 128-byte records allocated to the file
BYTES the number of kilobytes allocated to the file
EXT the number of 16K extensions
FILENAME.TYP the filename

After listing the individual files, the storage usage is summarised.
