TAN

Function

TAN returns the tangent of an angle.

Syntax

TAN(N)

where N is a numeric variable in radians.

Examples

T = TAN(2.56)

sets T equal to the value of the tangent of 2.56 radians.

PRINT TAN(2.56)

gives:

-.65744712167262

Remarks

The argument is expressed in radians.

The tangents on angles in degrees may be calculated as follows :-

A = TAN(angle/180*PI)
